The XYPN LIVE Experience: Where Connection Meets Transformation

We’re big fans of anniversaries here at XYPN. We champion all the big and small milestones reached by XYPN members from their first 6 months to their 10th year in the Network. That’s because when you’re independent, having a Network that recognizes your wins and supports your struggles can make all the difference. 

At XYPN LIVE 2024, we celebrated 10 years of doing that—supporting fee-for-service financial advisors in launching, running, and growing the firm of their dreams. That’s 10 years of REAL support, REAL independence, and REAL financial planning. 

We intentionally design the XYPN LIVE experience to support those connections because the Network makes XYPN unique, and XYPN LIVE is where the Network comes together.

On Tuesday, October 15th, 830 attendees kicked off the 10th annual conference to learn what’s to come in the year ahead—from investing in the member experience to reimagining the future of support.

As we enter the next decade, we’re reshaping the Dream Team to support the two new paths to membership better XYPN Emerald—XYPN’s full flexibility offering—and XYPN Sapphire—XYPN’s newly launched Corporate RIA.

XYPN LIVE is the place to find meaningful connections  

The XYPN Experience is where you can feel welcome sharing the highs and lows of firm ownership no matter who’s across from you at the table. The people are what set XYPN LIVE apart.

That feeling of inclusion happens by design. We intentionally create the schedule to maximize the time spent away from your firm—more than 24 hours of facilitated Networking time graced the schedule this year. That wasn’t the only exciting statistic: in 2024 we had 55 meet-ups organized by attendees, 8,333 messages sent in the conference app, and 48 community board topics started. But what does that mean in practice?

Beyond regularly scheduled events, it means that attendees organized their own CrossFit workouts, tennis matches, soccer pickup games, WNBA viewing parties, girls' night-ins, and regional meetups. It’s the kind of REAL connection that transforms the conference experience into the highlight of your year.

XYPN LIVE is the place to work ON your firm and walk away with powerful takeaways 

XYPN LIVE empowers you to serve who you want, how you want. In 2024, attendees could attend a session about adding a fractional therapist to your RIA and changing how they show up in their firms or join a workshop designed to eliminate guesswork and leave feeling empowered to chase sustainable growth. 

This year, every session brought the opportunity to reimagine how you show up in your firm.  We’ve seen how the understanding of what moves the needle gets lost as firms grow. Keynote speaker Libby Greiwe stopped that trend cold as she delivered her keynote on Leveling up from Advisor to CEO on Thursday, October 17th. She packed her keynote with actionable insights from the unconventional KPIs that help advisors step into the CEO role, the secrets to reducing friction, and the key: keeping client experience at the heart of everything. 

And just like Libby’s keynote, each speaker shared their insights, takeaways, and experiences that helped advisors walk away feeling refreshed. We're making your biggest asset even more valuable with acclaimed keynotes, peer-to-peer networking opportunities, workshops, industry experts, and more. In 2024, on average, sessions received a rating of 4.56 out of 5 for how well they delivered their content

XYPN LIVE is the place to leverage technology opportunities 

XYPN LIVE’s Exhibit Hall dedicates an entire day to connecting with hand-picked solutions that are growing with membership. It's historically been one of the most action-packed days of the whole conference, and this year was no exception. A record-breaking 88 exhibitors joined us in Minneapolis to join in the celebration. 

Attendees could connect with the “whys” of tech founders, share insights directly with decision makers, learn how to maximize their talent pipeline from an industry expert, speed things up with speed networking, and roll those connections into Exhibitor Happy Hours on one action-packed day.

Beyond the informal connections that happened in the Exhibit Hall, attendees saw the latest fin-tech on the Expo Stage. The Tech Showcase brought power users in the Network together with a select group of tech solutions to demo exactly how tech works best in their practices. This year's AdviceTech Competition spotlighted the tech and solutions that support ways to deliver more efficient, profitable, or impactful advice for clients. On Wednesday, October 16th, the attendee audience and a panel of hand-picked experts selected the "Best in Show" and "Advicer's Choice."

XYPN LIVE is the place to be inspired 

In the workshops, roundtables, and community events, you can connect with new advisors, reconnect with old friends, and meet with folks you’ve never met in real life. And each new connection will challenge you in the best ways. 

That’s no truer than in Michael Kitces and Carl Richards’ keynote, where they underlined the power of making decisions with the information that feels right for you, encouraging attendees to embrace their own paths. Whether you’re throwing out the expectation that success will look linear or pivoting to chase a new goal, running your business, your way is at the heart of XYPN LIVE.

Our goal at XYPN is to build a community that leaves you feeling independent but never alone. Each year, the vibrant community of like-minded advisors raises their hand to share their enthusiasm and expertise with attendees. As we said, it’s all about the people.

In 2025, the XYPN Network is heading to Austin, TX, for three power-packed days of learning and connection from September 25th to 27th for XYPN LIVE.
