Ask Me Anything: To Scale or Not To Scale Your RIA

 I didn't grow-up in the financial industry, but instead have had careers in Design, Illustration and Fine Art — all places where I saw smart, motived, hard-working people fall victim to a misunderstanding with money.  Inspired by the good folks in my creative community, I've made it my mission to become an expert in money for regular people, specializing in strategies to deal with the myriad of challenges that we face while working toward financial independence. I use my years of experience in information design to take the thorny topic of money and transform it into something anyone can master.  Over the last 15 years I've talked to hundreds of people like you (entrepreneurs, teachers, nurses, doctors, therapists, writers, artists, students, dancers, software engineers, and even a few CEOs, COOs, an international long-distance horse racer and one judge) about their money, learning where the pain points are, and how to fix them. I now understanding that the nuances might not be the numbers, but instead in gaining an education, confidence and a structure for good habits. With this insider perspective, I've developed specific tools to build financial stability while supporting my client's wild aspirations.

Tyler is a long-time XY Planning Network member and serves as Managing Director of SageOak Financial, LLC in Tulsa, OK. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Accredited Investment Fiduciary® Designee, Certified Kingdom Advisor®, and NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor.   Along with his two business partners, he helps develop SageOak’s long-term vision and integrate it into their strategic plan. He also provides ongoing financial planning, investment management, and wealth management advice to individuals, families, and small businesses, both in person and virtually, across the country. For many of his clients, faith is an important part of their life, but regardless of their faith background or season of life, clients usually seek him out to delegate the stress and headache that normally come with managing their own financial planning and investment needs.  On a personal note, Tyler grew up in a small town in northeastern Indiana, but currently lives in the Tulsa, OK area with his wife, five kids, and their Cavapoo named Hoosier. He and his family are very active in their local church, Grace & Peace (PCA), where he serves as an ordained elder. In his free time, Tyler enjoys playing an occasional round of golf, staying physically active, reading good books, traveling to new places, and…just kidding! With five young kids and a dog, there’s no such thing as free time in his current phase of life, but he’s loving every minute of it!
